Working with children brings me so much joy!

Hi, my name is Betsy Mathess. I am a Licensed Social Worker (LSW), licensed through the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Family Therapist Board.

I work with clients of all ages, however, I have a special interest in working with children and adolescents who may be experiencing anxiety, depression, and trauma. I implement a variety of therapeutic techniques including cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and trauma-focused therapy. I am also skilled in suicide prevention. It is important for me to be able to provide my clients with an accepting, respectful, and non-judgmental environment in which they feel safe and supported.

I have a master's degree in Family Relations, Human Development/Human Ecology, and a bachelor's degree in Psychology, both from The Ohio State University, and have been licensed to work in the field for the past 24 years.

When I am not at work, you can usually find me in the kitchen baking coffeecakes for friends and family, exercising, or hanging out watching movies with my husband and boys.
