Clinical Therapist

I strive to bring out the best in my clients. I want to help them understand where their issues lie and then find ways to help resolve them. Many times, our thoughts are influenced by our behaviors and what we feel is influenced by what we think, but we usually feel something first. I can help clients with these thinking patterns, to be mindful of those patterns and the reactions they generate so they can either modify how they think or change how they react.

I work with a lot of different clients and specialize in seeing clients from the LGBTQ+ community. Because I treat everyone like I would like to be treated, clients find it easy to have a rapport with me. I am always genuine and authentic, and I provide a safe place for difficult discussions about sexuality, relationships, anxiety, grief, trauma, and identity role confusion. I also have experience working with couples on relationship issues and working with families to help resolve conflict within their relationship dynamics.

I primarily use Rogerian Person Centered (Talk Therapy), Cognitive Behavioral Theory (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Trauma informed (EMDR), Strength Based and Reality Theory techniques to help clients focus on their personal strengths and assist them with positive coping skills, personal growth and development. These methods included Socratic Questioning, which encourages deep reflection and self-examination, and Empathic Understanding to create a safe and validating environment for clients.  Additionally, Dialectical Thinking helps clients reconcile opposing thoughts and emotions, fostering a more integrated perspective while Radical Acceptance is a means to embrace reality without judgment, promoting emotional resilience.

My goal is to help my clients overcome their current stressors, traumas, and symptoms by building on their strengths and helping create in them a stronger sense of self-worth.
