Magdalini Georgakopoulos, BA, CT

Clinical Therapist Intern

My name is Magdalini, but please call me Mag. I love connecting with new people and learning about their cultures, stories, and experiences. As a first-generation American, I deeply value the power of every voice and strive to create a space where everyone feels truly seen, heard, and welcomed.

In therapy, I want to hear about you—your interests, hopes, dreams, and the moments that have shaped who you are today. Together, we’ll explore what brings you to therapy, identify your goals, and discover ways to restore joy, meaning, and balance in your life.

My approach is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and I also integrate Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT), and Trauma-Informed Care (TIC) to best meet each person’s unique needs.

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Human Development and Family Sciences from The Ohio State University and am currently pursuing dual master’s degrees in School Counseling and Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Walden University. I am also a Qualified Behavioral Health Specialist.

I love helping people discover their strengths, build confidence, develop coping strategies, and express themselves creatively. Since 2022, I have had the privilege of working with children and adolescents in a variety of settings, including inpatient care, childcare, and partial hospitalization programs. My experience includes supporting individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders, Behavioral Disorders such as Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Mood Disorders including Depression, Mania and Psychosis-related disorders, as well as those navigating Trauma, Anxiety, and Panic Disorders.
